Batik Cotton Sarong Fabric Beautiful Fully Handmade Indonesian Batik Kain Tulis from Madura Indonesia Batik collections Hand Drawn

A beautiful, old, hand made Batik from the island of Madura in East Java. Tulis is the Indonesian word used to describe a batik that is totally handmade by "kanting" (pouring) the wax onto the material. It is not made by stamp or by mechanically printing onto the material. This is the traditional and most labour intensive way of making a batik.

From Madura, this one has a white background with a floral motif in dark blue and brown. It is in very good condition on good soft cotton.

A Kain is a piece of material about 2 or a bit more metres in length. This one is 101cm high by 224cm long.
