Collections The Tylosaurus

When the water levels rose tens of millions of years ago, shallow seas Invaded the land. In their sunlit waters roamed the largest lizards ever to lived collections - the Tylosaurus. With massive jaws lined with sharp teeth, Tylosaurus were the deadliest predators in the seas of their day. They preyed on fish, sharks, turtles, squid and even other mosasaurs. They swam after their victims like crocodiles, paddling with their powerful flippers, and using their long, flattened tail to make sweeping, side to side movements. Their competitors in the prehistoric seas included the fast- swimming ichthyosaurs and mighty pliosaurs.
